About

I'm a freelance web developer working with small teams who need something built well without a lot of ceremony. I've been doing this since 2017, first in-house at a small agency and independently since 2020.

My approach is simple: understand the actual problem, build the smallest thing that solves it properly, and make sure whoever inherits it can keep it running. I'd rather ship something plain and solid than something clever and fragile.

Most of my work is a mix of frontend and backend. I'm comfortable across the stack, but I care most about the parts users never see — hosting, performance, and the quiet reliability that keeps a site up while everyone forgets it exists.

Tools I reach for

Plain HTML/CSS/JS where it fits, a framework where it earns its keep, and a boring, well-understood server setup underneath. I'd rather use fewer moving parts than more.

Outside work

When I'm not at a screen I'm usually hiking, fixing up an old bike, or reading more about typography than is strictly reasonable.
